Lesson Schedule | Academic Year 2026 - 2027

Time to start scheduling for the School year!

First, some bittersweet news: After fifteen years of teaching private lessons at Shepherd University’s Community Music Program, I will be closing that location for lessons in September. The good news is this will allow me to focus more fully on my own music practice, performing and teaching in the Hagerstown area, my ensemble work with Hagerstown Community College and continuing with Shepherd’s string ensembles. I am grateful for the students and families I’ve gotten to know and teach there over the years, I hope to see many of them in rehearsals and at performances in Shepherdstown after lessons are wrapped up there!

This coming school year space is limited and spots aren’t guaranteed. Before signing up for a spot, please be sure it is a time you can commit to for the fully year, as taking a spot prevent another student from joining. I’ll do my best to accommodate all, but I may be unable to place every applicant. Thank you for understanding.

teaching schedule for 2026 - 2027

All private lesson hours will be held at the Hagerstown studio:

  • Monday afternoons and evenings

  • Tuesdays

  • Wednesday afternoons

Schedule Considerations

  • Lesson length: Beginning students start out with a half hour lesson. As time passes our repertoire and technique demands expand and make longer lessons necessary. Students and their families should plan to enroll in:

    • Half hour lesson for Suzuki Book 1 ($150/month)

    • 45-minute lesson for Suzuki Books 2 - 3 ($225/month)

    • Hour lesson for Suzuki Book 4+ ($300/month)

  • Please list as much availability as possible. This is a huge help to me and necessary to take care of everyone’s needs this coming school year when studio availability is so limited.

  • Adults with daytime availability and homeschool students are asked to schedule their lessons before 3:00 PM. Elementary students are asked to come as early in the afternoon as possible. Later evening times work wonderfully for middle school, high school and adults as well. Adhering to these guidelines helps each student age to have a lesson when their focus and energy is at it’s best, as well as help as many students as possible find a place in the studio.

Registration Timeline

  • Current Students: Submit your availability in the form below where you will see space to enter your name, contact method and your availability for studio locations and times. Consider what progress your child has made in the last few months. Are they ready for a longer lesson? See recommendations in the form below or in your studio policy. Questions? Please discuss at our next lesson or via email. Students in good standing and enrolled over the summer will get top priority for scheduling. Please have these submitted by Friday, August 7th.

  • Wait List and Incoming Students: Please use the form below to provide your schedule availability for Suzuki violin lessons. Every effort will be made to fit you or your child in for regular lessons. I want as many students as possible to receive a solid Suzuki music education! Please have your availability submitted by Friday, August 7th. Lesson requests after that date will be subject to studio availability.

Expect the 2026 - 2027 Academic year schedule set by Friday, August 14th.

New lesson times will begin the week of Monday, August 31st.

Thank you for your help with making a smooth transition to summer lessons!
